I have been running Scotland for Wildlife Holidays since 2004 to help promote wildlife experiences in Scotland, and the excellent range of companies, organisations and individuals that help to get people closer to Scottish nature. I originally started it due to the lack of information available about wildlife in Scotland through the large tourism organisations, which as an accommodation provider myself was frustrating.
Fortunately since then things have improved, especially with the creation of Wild Scotland, the scottish wildlife tourism association. However, there is always room for more information, so I am still here, providing relevant information for visitors each year (around 50,ooo in 2010).
In addition to the many tours and trips listed, I also provide information on low cost and free ways to get outside and find out more about the wildlife that Scotland has to offer. Browse through the selection of nature reserves for more ideas for a day out.
In addition, I list a large number of organisations and online identification guides to help you. There are a vast array of resources available on the web, but not always easy to find. If you can recommend one that you feel should be included then please let me know!
